Enjoyable Week at Potters

Members and friends of Spalding Indoor Bowls Club travelled to Potters Leisure Resort, Horton-On-Sea between 14thand 18th November 2022 to enjoy the excellent facilities and take part in the bowls competition, which started with 72 teams from across the country. Spalding had ten teams taking part with eight still in contention at the last 16 stage. Four teams progressed to the quarter finals and Spalding made up three of the four semi-finalists.

Spalding’s semi-finalists were made up of Tim Rogers, Petrine Ault, Doris Rawding and John Rawding, Hazel Searson, Cliff Searson, Betty Deaton and George Deaton and finally, Carole Nunney, David Nunney, Chris Stagles and Ann Newbury. Spalding did make up the two finalists but there could only be one winner. After a highly entertaining final, Hazel Searson, Cliff Searson, Betty Deaton and George Deaton were victorious. Spalding also won the award for “top club” which was decided by the highest team percentage to make the last 16. Trophies were presented by England captain, Greg Harlow.

A good time was had by all with the non-bowlers taking part in the on site activities and one even winning over £600 at bingo. Everyone really enjoyed the excellent food, service and all inclusive drinks.
